I am a traveling Nurse RN, LPN, LVN and use my license in multiple states, can I get printed for other states?

• Yes, we can ink print or print to card for all 50 states, including the non-compact states - Alaska, California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New York and Oregon. We can do prints for multiple states. Traveling nurses may be interested in taking advantage of our yearly retention of digital fingerprints as to not to have to do prints again should you practice in a non-compact state in the future. 

Why is are my fingerprints or a background check being requested?

• Getting fingerprints done means that it will result in a background check - it can be either state or federal level.  A typical background check may be for the following information:
  

1. Employment Verification: This allows you to confirm the accuracy of an applicant's reported employment history. It provides details such as past employers' names, addresses, dates of employment, and job titles held.

2. Education Verification: This report verifies the schools or colleges an applicant attended, dates of attendance, and any degrees or diplomas earned.

3. Criminal History: A criminal background check reveals non-expunged criminal convictions, including the type of offense, offense date, level of offense (misdemeanor or felony), disposition of the offense, date of disposition, and sentence information.

4. Identity Verification: This check ensures that the applicant's provided information, such as Social Security number, birthdate, and name, matches their identity. It also verifies former names used and associated addresses.

5. National Sex Offender Registry Check: Requesting this check helps identify if an applicant is a registered sex offender in any U.S. state, providing relevant information about the underlying conviction.

2. Kansas City Ban-the-Box Ordinance: Employers with six or more employees must postpone inquiries about criminal history until the applicant is determined otherwise qualified for the job and has had an interview. Convictions should only be considered if directly related to job requirements.

3. St. Louis Ban-the-Box Ordinance: Applicable to employers with 10 or more employees in St. Louis, this law restricts asking about criminal history on applications. Employers can inquire about criminal history only after interviews or when conducting background checks on the final candidate pool.

4. Missouri Expungement Law: Certain felony and misdemeanor convictions can be expunged under specific conditions. Expunged convictions are not reportable, and applicants with expunged records do not have to disclose them.
