What technology do I need for a remote online notarization?

To complete a virtual notary appointment through our Notary Services, you only need three things: a smartphone, tablet, or computer equipped with a functioning webcam and microphone, a stable, reliable internet connection, and a digital PDF copy of your document ready to upload electronically. Our Remote Online Notary service makes it easy, and if you need additional assistance with international documents, we also provide Apostille Services.

What types of documents can be notarized online?

Most documents that qualify for traditional, in-person signing can be processed through our Remote Online Notary service. This includes affidavits, Powers of Attorney (POA), business contracts, corporate agreements, bills of sale, and real estate deeds. If you have a specific or unusual document type, please contact Mobile Notary St Louis to verify compliance, including for our Apostille Services, before booking.

Can documents from outside of Missouri be notarized online?

Yes. Our remote online notaries, who hold valid electronic commissions from the State of Missouri, can legally perform notary services for documents originating from or heading to any state or country. This is possible as long as the receiving agency accepts electronic notarization. Additionally, we also offer apostille services to ensure your documents are legally recognized abroad.

Can I get an online notarized document Apostilled?

Yes! Mobile Notary St Louis specializes in a seamless, dual workflow that allows us to provide Notary Services through Remote Online Notary for your convenience. We can perform your online notarization and then handle the Apostille Services or Federal Authentication on your behalf. This is particularly beneficial for clients located overseas or traveling abroad who need immediate document processing.

What identification is required for an online notary appointment?

You must present a valid, unexpired government-issued photo identification card, such as a U.S. driver's license, state ID, or passport. During the secure login process for our Apostille Services or Notary Services, the online platform will require you to snap a picture of your ID for automated forensic analysis and complete a brief identity-proofing quiz to verify your credentials. If you are utilizing Remote Online Notary services, this step is crucial for ensuring a secure and legitimate process.

How does the virtual online notarization process work?

The entire digital process for our notary services, including apostille services, is quick and can be completed right from your smartphone or computer:

Upload & Schedule: Upload your document to our secure portal and pick an appointment time. Please note: Submitting non-PDF files will incur an additional fee of $15 per page, so we highly recommend uploading files as standard PDFs.

Connect Securely: Check your email for a secure link to sign into our state-approved video platform for remote online notary services.

Verify Identity: Complete the quick, automated identity verification and photo ID scan.

Sign Electronically: Connect via live video with a commissioned Mobile Notary St Louis team member who will witness your electronic signature and apply their secure digital notary seal. You can then immediately download your legally binding, e-notarized document.

Can I use your online notary service if I am currently located outside of Missouri or the US?

Absolutely. As long as our notary public is physically located within Missouri boundaries at the time of the call, we can legally provide notary services to signers located anywhere across the United States or globally. This is the ideal solution for expats, military personnel stationed abroad, or business professionals traveling overseas, and it pairs well with our remote online notary options and apostille services.

What if my document requires witnesses? Can they join the online session?

Yes. If your specific document (such as a Will or Power of Attorney) requires independent witnesses, they can easily join the secure virtual video session along with you, the notary, and the efficient Remote Online Notary services. If you do not have witnesses available, Mobile Notary St Louis can provide professional, independent witnesses for an additional fee when you book your appointment, complementing our comprehensive Notary Services and Apostille Services.

What are the fees for online notary services with Mobile Notary St Louis?

We provide transparent pricing for our Remote Online Notary services, ensuring clarity in our costs. Our rates are structured as follows:

Base Notarized Signature: $25 for each online notarized signature under our Notary Services.

Technology Fee: $25 per online session for Remote Online Notary services.
